This product contains 30 mg of quality lycopene per capsule. Lycopene, primarily found in tomatoes, is a member of the carotenoid family which includes beta-carotene and similar compounds found naturally in food. Lycopene has potent antioxidant activity.

Studies performed by Harvard researchers analyzed the relationship between carotenoids and the risk of prostate complications. Of the carotenoids studied, only lycopene was clearly linked to protection. Men who had the greatest amounts of lycopene in their diets showed a decrease in prostate problems.

Lycopene appears to be a powerful immune enhancer. Several researchers have confirmed the benefits of lycopene intake for prostate, lungs, pancreas, colon, rectum, esophagus, oral cavity, breast, and cervix.

In Europe, researchers have found a statistically significant association between high dietary lycopene and lower risk of heart disease. Lycopene supplementation has also boosted immune function (natural killer cell activity).
