Dolorex™ is an effective combination of methylsulfonylmethane (MSM), white willow bark, and feverfew extract. This product is formulated to relieve pain.

Ingredients

Methylsulfonylmethane (MSM), the main ingredient in this formula, is a naturally occurring, organic, sulfur-containing compound related to another sulfur-containing agent, dimethyl sulfoxide DMSO. MSM is found in small quantities in nature and has been detected at low levels in human blood and urine. Studies have shown that sulfur from orally supplemented MSM is incorporated into and absorbed by the body’s proteins. Other studies have confirmed that MSM could promote the reduction of pain for some health conditions.

White willow bark has traditionally been used by herbalists to help promote pain relief for a variety of health conditions. In the late 19th century, the constituent salicylic acid was isolated from willow bark and became the model for aspirin (acetylsalicylic acid). The glycoside salicin, from which the body can separate salicylic acid, is thought to be the source that promotes the anti-inflammatory and pain-relieving action of willow bark.

Feverfew is traditionally used in Great Britain for several conditions. It contains a range of compounds known as sesquiterpene lactones. More than 85% of these compounds consist of parthenolide (a sesquiterpene lactone of the germacranolide class), which helps inhibit excessive platelet clumping and the release of certain chemicals, including inflammatory mediators. Double-blind trials involving people with migraines suggest that feverfew intake may help reduce the severity, duration, and frequency of migraines.
