Hierba del Sapo
120 Capsules
Hierba del Sapo (Eryngium heterophyllum engelm), originally from Mexico, was used for decades by the Aztecs for its therapeutic properties. It is currently distributed in many Mexican regions and is used to strengthen the digestive, endocrine, respiratory, reproductive, and urinary systems.
Mexican scientists have proven that hierba del sapo contains therapeutic effects that promote blood sugar control, decreasing the risk of developing diabetes.
Francisco A. Saavedra Molina, M.D., from the Institute of Biological Chemical Research of the Michoacana University of San Nicolás de Hidalgo (UMSNH), has scientifically proven that the herb has hypoglycemic effects. Research has also suggested that hierba del sapo may increase high-density lipoprotein (HDL) levels, commonly known as “good cholesterol,” while decreasing low-density lipoprotein (LDL) levels, or “bad cholesterol.” Reduced levels of triglycerides, creatinine, and uric acid were also found.
Future research by Francisco A. Saavedra Molina, M.D., will focus on analyzing hierba del sapo and its possible effects on the immune system.
