Other functions include blood filtration, bile and hormone production, blood sugar regulation, and processing harmful toxins into substances that can be safely eliminated by the body. Since the function of the liver is so important, good maintenance is vital. In order to maintain the liver healthy, people should avoid fatty and starchy foods, sugar, salt, and alcohol.
