Estro-Health
60 Capsules • 680 mg
Estro-Health™ is a combination of herbal extracts, gamma-oryzanol, and soy isoflavones formulated to provide nutritional support throughout menopause.

Menopause is defined as the cessation of the monthly female menstrual cycle. Women who have not had a menstrual period for a year are considered postmenopausal. Most commonly, menopause takes place when a woman is in her forties or early fifties.

One of the main herbs in this formula is black cohosh. Native Americans valued this herb and used it for many conditions especially gynecological in nature. Black cohosh contains several properties, including triterpene glycosides, isoflavones and many more. As women approach menopause, the signals between the ovaries and pituitary gland diminish, slowing down estrogen production and increasing luteinizing hormone (LH) secretions. Hot flashes can result from these hormonal changes. Human trials have demonstrated that black cohosh promotes estrogen activity in the organism and supports the decrease of LH secretions.

Kelp, the sea vegetable, is a rich source of minerals including iodine, potassium, magnesium, calcium, and iron. Kelp as a source of iodine assists in making thyroid hormones, which are necessary for maintaining normal metabolism in all cells of the body. Usually, iodine is stocked in the thyroid gland but in some cases, it settles in the breast, ovaries, and uterus. When iodine stores are depleted or missing, estrogen will quickly fill up the unoccupied space forming cysts, lumps, and fibroids.

Dong quai is frequently used in Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM) and it is sometimes referred to as the female ginseng. It is used to promote the reduction of symptoms associated with menopause. Traditionally, dong quai is believed to have a balancing or “adaptogenic” effect on the female hormonal system.

Another herb used in this product is wild yam. It has been used by herbalists for many conditions, menopause being one of them. Wild yam could be converted industrially into cortisone, estrogens, and progesterone.

Ginkgo promotes blood flow to the brain and supports concentration and cognitive function, which is important for menopausal women who may have memory lapses. Ginkgo could promote estrogen levels due to its content of phytoestrogens (vegetable agents with a similar structure to estrogen).

Sarsaparilla is commonly used by Mexican herbalists for several conditions and women’s health concerns. This herb contains steroidal saponins, such as sarsasapogenin, which may mimic the action of some human hormones.

The leaves of damiana are used by the indigenous cultures of Central America, particularly Mexico. Damiana extract has been shown in a test tube to weakly bind to progesterone receptors. Thus, damiana may be a potentially useful herb for some female health problems.

Squaw vine, although used traditionally mainly for pregnancy and childbirth, is also an effective uterine tonic and helpful in promoting uterus and ovary health.

Eleuthero is considered a normalizer, promoting the reduction of stress and supporting the increase of energy. It has been traditionally used for stress and fatigue.

Clinical research has suggested that gamma oryzanol has been shown to promote the reduction of menopausal symptoms including hot flashes.

The mild estrogenic activity of soy isoflavones may promote the reduction of menopause symptoms for some women, without creating estrogen-related problems.

Red raspberry leaves have been used by herbalists for female health in all stages of life, including pregnancy, and pre-through post menopause. It is known as “the women’s tonic”.
