This product is a liquid extract of chanca piedra. Since the 60’s, chanca piedra has been studied to determine its active agents and pharmacological activities. The Spanish name chanca piedra translates to “stone breaker.” It earned this name because of its traditional use in supporting urinary tract and gallbladder health.
Most of chanca piedra’s constituents are biologically active lignans, glycosides, flavonoids, alkaloids, ellagitannins, phenylpropanoids, lipids, sterols, and flavonols. It contains many more active compounds, making this plant a highly valuable component.
Over many years, clinical research has also found that chanca piedra has liver-protective properties, among others.
