Colon Detox bottle

This product is a combination of twenty-three ingredients carefully formulated to cleanse and detoxify the large intestine while improving digestive health.

The main purpose of the colon or large intestine as an organ of elimination is to collect all fermentative and putrefactive toxic waste from every part of the body and through peristaltic movements of the muscles of the colon, eliminate all solid and semi-solid waste from the organism. In a few words, the colon is the sewage system of the body which needs preservation and hygiene to avoid toxic waste polluting the organism and causing many ailments.

Feces that stay in the colon are considered fermented and putrefied matter and any nutritional element present in it would pass into the blood stream as a polluted product generating toxemia. This condition is produced by the growth of pathogenic, or disease producing bacteria.

Among the main ingredients are:

Senna leaves, which have been used by people in northern Africa and southwestern Asia for centuries as a laxative. It was considered a “cleansing” herb because of its cathartic effect. Senna contains hydroxyanthracene glycosides known as sennosides. These glycosides stimulate colon activity and thus have a laxative effect. These glycosides also increase fluid secretion by the colon, with the effect of softening the stool and increasing its bulk.

Psyllium husks are used in cases of constipation. It is a bulk-forming laxative and is high both in fiber and mucilage. The laxative properties of psyllium are due to the swelling of the husk when it comes in contact with fluids. This forms a gelatinous mass that keeps feces hydrated and soft, provided it is taken with plenty of water. The resulting bulk stimulates a reflex contraction of the walls of the bowel, followed by emptying.

Flax seeds contain soluble and insoluble fiber. Soluble fiber can promote healthy cholesterol levels as well as support optimal blood sugar, while insoluble fiber moves the stool through the colon more quickly, assisting bowel movements and improving laxation.

Ginger rhizome contains approximately 1 to 4% volatile oils. The aromatic constituents include zingiberene and bisabolene, while the pungent constituents are known as gingerols and shogaols. Ginger is considered a tonic for the digestive tract, stimulating digestion and toning the intestinal muscles. This action eases the transport of substances through the digestive tract, lessening irritation to the intestinal walls.

Cascara sagrada bark was introduced by Northern California Indians to 16th century Spanish explorers. Cascara Sagrada (sacred bark) is high in hydroxyanthraquinone glycosides called cascarosides. Resins, tannins, and lipids make up the bulk of the other bark ingredients. Cascarosides have a cathartic action that induces the large intestine to increase its muscular contractions (peristalsis), resulting in bowel movements.

This supplement also contains additional ingredients: Valerian root, apple pectin, apple fiber, slippery elm bark, marshmallow root, deglycyrrhizinated licorice, lactobacillus acidophilus, bifidobacterium, guar gum, glucomannan, buckthorn bark, wormwood herb, black walnut hulls, fennel seeds, papaya leaves, oat straw, prune extract, and aloe leaves.
