Fatty Acids Kit
Essential Fatty Acids

This kit includes EPA-DHA Omega-3, Flaxseed Oil, and Lecithin Forte™. Taken together, these three supplements support cardiovascular function and promote healthy cognitive performance.

EPA-DHA Omega-3

This product contains EPA and DHA, essential fatty acids derived from high-quality fish oil, rich in omega-3 fatty acids. EPA and DHA promote healthy triglyceride levels, cardiovascular wellness, and anti-inflammatory effects. For these reasons, fish oil is used for various health conditions. Omega-3 fatty acids in fish oil help balance omega-6 fatty acids, which are mostly found in vegetable oils. When these two groups of fatty acids are out of balance, the body releases chemicals that promote inflammation. Some people appear to produce more of these inflammatory chemicals when they are under psychological stress. With a fatty acid imbalance, the inflammatory stress response appears to increase.

EPA and DHA also support immune function, likely due to their role in modulating prostaglandin production. Emerging research suggests that fish oil may help support healthy cellular function in both animals and humans, although findings are still preliminary. Early research also indicates that omega-3 fatty acids from fish oil may help support a normal, healthy heart rhythm.

Primitive diets have higher levels of EPA and DHA compared to modern and Western diets. As a result, some researchers and health practitioners believe that most people who eat a typical diet are likely not consuming optimal amounts of EPA and DHA.

Flaxseed Oil

Flaxseed Oil contains linoleic acid, which is an essential fatty acid needed for survival. Unlike most oils, it also contains significant amounts of alpha linolenic acid (ALA).

To a limited extent, alpha-linolenic acid (ALA) is an omega-3 fatty acid that is converted in the body into eicosapentaenoic acid (EPA). EPA is an omega-3 fatty acid found in fish oil, which converts into beneficial prostaglandins (hormone-like substances made in many parts of the body rather than coming from one organ, as most hormones do).

Research published in 2008 in the “American Journal of Clinical Nutrition” reported that consumption of ALA supplements over 3 months raised levels of DHA and EPA in the bloodstream. The resulting increase in omega-3 fatty acids may promote cardiovascular health.

There is also evidence that continuous consumption of flaxseed oil could help with regular bowel movements.

Lecithin Forte

This product has been formulated to support cardiovascular, cognitive, and nerve function. Lecithin is a fatty substance found throughout the body and in certain foods. It is made up primarily of phospholipids, compounds found in all living organisms. These are the major components of cell membranes, which allow cells to remain separated from one another.

The human liver normally makes enough lecithin daily. The nutraceutical industry uses lecithin extracted from egg yolks or soybeans. Lecithin Forte™ is made from non-GMO soy, containing the main active agents.

Nutritional studies have confirmed that lecithin is crucial for the health of membranes and also plays a role as an antioxidant. It promotes the reduction of cardiovascular disease risk and improves cognitive function.

Studies and data about cardiovascular disease and lecithin intake relate to laboratory studies showing that lecithin has antioxidant properties, and thus can be generally beneficial for health. Additionally, some studies have found that animals fed diets rich in lecithin had reduced blood cholesterol levels.
