Memorix™
60 Cápsulas • 700 mg
Concentration and memory work together, but one does not lead to the other. To concentrate is to direct mental powers, or efforts, towards a particular activity, subject, or problem. Memory is the ability to remember information, experiences, and people. There are some specific skills that can be learned to enhance both concentration and memory. Also, the intake of natural supplements may help improve cognitive activity.
This supplement is a blend of DMAE bitartrate and herbal extracts formulated to promote concentration and memory function.
DMAE (2-dimethylaminoethanol) is a chemical produced in the brain. Like choline, DMAE may increase levels of the brain neurotransmitter, acetylcholine. Levels of acetylcholine decline among people with Alzheimer’s disease, and the drugs used to treat Alzheimer’s patients target the processes that break it down. One small, uncontrolled four-week trial with people with senile dementia given 600 mg three times a day, did not show memory changes but produced positive behavioral changes.
One of the world’s oldest living species of tree is Ginkgo biloba. Medicinal use of ginkgo can be traced back almost 5,000 years in Chinese herbal medicine. The therapeutic benefits of Ginkgo biloba extract (GBE) are attributed mainly to two groups of active constituents: the ginkgo flavone glycosides (24%), primarily responsible for GBE’s antioxidant activity and the terpene lactones (6%) found in GBE, known as ginkgolides and bilobalide. They are associated with increasing circulation to the brain and other parts of the body and may exert a protective action on nerve cells. GBE promotes tone and elasticity of blood vessels, making circulation more efficient. Ginkgo biloba is also known for its effect on memory and thinking (cognitive function). It may promote cognitive performance in healthy older adults, in people with age-related cognitive decline and in people with Alzheimer’s disease.
Another herbal extract part of this supplement is Gotu Kola. It has been important in the medicinal systems in central Asia for centuries. In Sri Lanka, it was used to prolong life, as the leaves are commonly eaten by elephants. Gotu Kola also has a historical reputation for boosting mental activity and for helping several conditions. The primary active constituents are saponins which include asiaticoside, madecassoside, and madasiatic acid.
