Noni is a plant native to Polynesia. The fruit of noni is green, but once dried and processed into powder for supplements, it becomes yellow. Traditional Polynesian herbalists have used noni for a broad range of therapeutic applications.
This product contains 650 mg of pure Tahitian morinda citrifolia (noni) per capsule. The major constituents in noni appear to be polysaccharides and a compound known as damnacanthal. Animal and test tube studies have demonstrated immune-enhancing activity in noni. Specifically, the polysaccharide component has been shown to increase the release of immune-enhancing compounds that activate white blood cells. A previous animal study suggested the fruit may also produce a mild sedative effect. Damnacanthal is thought to be responsible for producing calming effects in animal studies.
