Pressure X™
60 Veggie Capsules
Hypertension (high blood pressure) is a common condition in which the force of blood against the artery walls remains elevated over time, potentially increasing the risk of serious health conditions such as heart disease. An estimated 103 million adults in the USA have high blood pressure, according to recent statistics from the American Heart Association.
Blood pressure is determined by two factors: the amount of blood the heart pumps and the resistance to blood in the arteries. The more blood the heart pumps and the narrower the arteries are, the higher the blood pressure.
Hypertension can be present for many years without any symptoms. Even without symptoms, damage to blood vessels and the heart continues and can be detected.
Pressure X™ has been formulated to help maintain healthy blood pressure levels. This supplement contains odorless garlic extract and hawthorn berries, two important ingredients for cardiovascular health.
Ingredients
In 1858, Louis Pasteur extensively studied the antimicrobial activity of garlic. Allicin is one of the major organosulfur compounds in garlic and is considered to be biologically active. Besides its antibacterial activity, garlic also supports the cardiovascular system. Studies have suggested that garlic may help reduce cholesterol and triglyceride levels in the blood. Other research has demonstrated mild antihypertensive activity. Garlic is also known for its antioxidant properties.
Hawthorn seems to have many beneficial effects on the heart and blood vessels. These include improved coronary artery blood flow and strengthened heart muscle contractions. Hawthorn may also enhance circulation to the extremities by lowering the resistance of blood flow in peripheral blood vessels. Hawthorn may mildly promote lower blood pressure in some people with hypertension.
The powerful, spicy fruit of cayenne has been used in herbal medicine for centuries. It was considered helpful to herbalists for several conditions. Cayenne was commonly used for the circulatory system and is presently used in herbal medicine as a circulatory tonic (a substance believed to improve circulation). Cayenne contains a strong, resinous substance known as capsaicin.
High in nitrates, parsley may help dilate blood vessels, promoting blood flow while maintaining blood pressure within a healthy range. Studies in human nutrition indicate that nitrate-rich foods like parsley can help maintain healthy blood pressure levels. Additionally, a phytochemical study detected the presence of flavonoids, cardenolides, and glycosides in parsley, which may contribute to its diuretic effects.
The intake of olive leaves has been associated with physiologically significant positive changes in total cholesterol, triglycerides, and hypertension. Olive leaf has a wide number of constituents, including oleuropein and several types of flavonoids (rutin, apigenin, luteolin). In animal studies, oleuropein was found to decrease blood pressure.
Valerian is an effective agent for high blood pressure, when linked with anxiety and stress. It has been used in nervous system conditions that lead to hypertension.
