Cuachalalate has been used in Mexico to promote digestive health since Pre-Hispanic times. Studies performed by the department of chemistry and biology at UNAM (National Autonomous University of Mexico) have demonstrated that this plant provides a wide spectrum of biological processes including the reduction of oxidative stress, promotion of anti-inflammatory activity, and cell proliferation.
Sangre de grado (Croton lechleri) is still used in South America for various types of conditions. It is considered a warehouse of functional phytochemicals including proanthocyanidins (antioxidants), phenols, diterpenes, phytosterols, alkaloids (taspine), and lignans (dimethylcedrusine).
BioPerine® is a patented standardized extract obtained from black pepper fruits. It has been incorporated to this supplement to enhance bioavailability.
